Graphic designer

I have worked in Lidl for more than five years now in different roles and positions. Currently I am working as a graphic designer. Scroll down to see what my work in Lidl looks like.

Marketing leaflet &

newspaper advertisement

My main task is to design the visual content of digital and printed marketing leaflet and newspapers. This means I search for all sort of information, place them together and design the information visually appealing for customers and potential customers. 

I collaborate with other departments daily and solve different kind of tasks with them. There are lot of different departments and they tend to have own rules and schedules. It is very important part of my work to understand and co-operate with these schedules and rules. Team-work attitude is a must.

I am a part of a marketing team and to be specific, food team. There are only few of us, and most of the time our team is focused on working with the food products. Sometimes also with non-food products as well.

Lidl launches every now and then a new food theme, like Japan theme for example. Most of these themes come from different countries, but they don't suit Finlands market like that. So these themes need to be altered and designed so that they suit better for Finnish markets. This is something I do every now and then.

Electric sign labels

Part of my work is to design and create electric sign labels. There are a lot of different kind of bargains and products that Lidl use for marketing. Every bargain type - and some of the more special products - needs a different kind of layout for a sign. Because they contain different kind of information.

It is most of the time my task to design and create these layouts and execute them so that rest of the team can also use them. This is a big part of my role at the moment. Our team creates hundreds of signs every week, manually, automatically and semi-automatically. 

Posters

Designing and creating posters for bargain products is something I do as well. These are designed and created on weekly basis.

These posters can be seen on the entrance of every Lidl store in Finland.

Internal material

More rarely but sometimes, I get to work with visuals of Lidl's events such as staff partys for example. The variety of materials that are requested tend to vary. Sometimes just a little leaflet is needed but most of the time it is a bit more, like visual identity for an anniversary party. The materials that are requested for bigger events include for example banners for web use, printed leaflets, illustrations, animations, logos and posters etc.

Usually you can use more imagination and creativity with these kinds of tasks. Teamwork and communication skills are highly needed on these projects.

Web material

On weekly basis I create Lidl material for internet use. There are lot of different kind of banners and pictures that I produce and design. These banners usually contain different bargains or market different kind of food themes.
